MALONE ISLAND ASSOCIATION

ZOOM BOASRD MEETING (DRAFT)

MARH 9, 2022, 7:00PM

1. CALL TO ORDER: 7:12PM

2. ROLL CALL: Behnke, Larson, Joyce, DaRosa, Dow present. Frie and Hahn absent.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

January 13, 2022

December 28, 2021

October 9, 2021

MOTION by Dow, seconded by Larson to approve the minutes listed above. Motion carried

unanimous.

4. TREASURES REPORT: Financial reports not available. Checkbook balance $23,895.32.

5. OLD BUSINESS: PRESIDENTS REPORT:

President Behnke reported that our accountant Mandy Polito has not responded to many his

many attempts to contact her for the Association financial reports and records. This dates back

to November 2021 when we were notified that our insurance premium had lapsed. It was

assumed the Ms. Polito had paid the insurance premium. Behnke has since found out that Ms

Polito has shut down her office in Wahkon and moved to the Brainerd area. She is now working

for a private firm doing payroll.

Ms. Potito has the Malone Island’s complete set of accounting records, bank statements, tax

returns and the Association checkbook.

President Behnke further reported that Ms. Polito has been removed as an authorized signee of

the Associations checkbook at the Milica First National Bank in Isle. It is not known when and if

we will have the checkbook returned to the Association, thus difficult to pay Association bills

etc. MOTION BY DaRosa, Seconded by Dow, that the existing Association checking account at

The First National Bank of Milica, Isle office be closed, and the funds be transferred to a new

checking account to be established at the First National Bank of Milaca, Isle office. Behnke,

Joyce, Larson and Dahlen to be authorizes signees. Motion carried unanimous.

6. NEW BUSINESS:

a. Data Link Accounting Services (Linda Dahlen) proposal to provide accounting services to the

association. The proposal was discussed by the board.

MOTION by Larson, seconded by Dow to accept the proposal from Data Link. Motion carried

unanimous.

b. SPRING MEETING DATE: May 21, 2022. Details to follow.

c. Malone Island Clothing: Deadline to Order April 15 for a May 21,2022 delivery at Spring

meeting.

d. Marina Dredging. MOTION by Dow, second by Joyce to establish a separate Capital

Improvement Saving Account at the First National Bank of Milica, Isle Office. Initial

deposit to be $500. More funds will be considered after the Association has time to

straighten out the current accounting problem outlined above in 5. Old Business. Motion

Carried Unanimous.

7. Adjournment: Motion by Joyce, seconded by Larson to adjourn at 7:48pm. Motion Carried

unanimous.
